Need to find a good home for Lucky, an adorable and affectionate seven year old dachshund-beagle mix. He weighs about 40 pounds and is in excellent physical condition.  He is neutered and current on shots.

Good companion and watch dog. Vigilant, loyal, intelligent, house broken, he loves to be around familiar people and likes to cuddle.  Friendly dog but can be wary of strangers. Raised as an indoor dog but likes to run around in our big backyard and loves to go for walks. Has lots of personality. He’s curious and playful and likes to be in on everything. Knows basic commands (e.g. sit, no, come, stay, down, sit up, shake hands, go to bed).

He has not been around other animals much, so don’t know how he would get along with other pets. Raised from a puppy with kids (ages 8 and up) and was good with them. Due to his dachshund side, he might not be as good with very small children because he could become irritable if roughly treated, jerked around or teased. He’s a beautiful and deserving animal who needs to find a new home due to changing owner circumstances.
