Camper's story
Camper was a little kitten when I first noticed it. My boyfriend and I live in an apartment and it is very common to see cats around. This kitten had a flea collar on so I assumed it was being looked after. Several months pass and I noticed the kitten again and the collar was off and there was an indention around her neck from where it was (someone must have cut it off). The kitten started to come around more and more then it started to meow at me. I noticed another neighbor feeding the little kitty, that was when I realized someone had abandoned it. I made it a waterproof box for the back porch and started to feed it. Then it got very very cold. It was going to start freezing outside. I decided to crack our garage door and made a new and improved box/home for the cat at which time we started calling her Camper. Camper lived in our garage surviving the cold winter freezes.
Then one day on our way to the skipark we saw little Camper limping. When we arrived home from our snowboarding trip Camper was in BAD shape. She was hiding away in her garage box and lethargic. I checked her out and took her to VCA at 7:00am the next morning. She had a bad abscess. I made the choice to pay for her to get better because I couldn't have her put down. She needed round the clock isolated care after arriving back home from the vet. We nursed her out of the rough spot for 2 weeks, even having family come over to watch her when my boyfriend and myself had school. The vet at VCA wasn't able to do the spay while performing the other procedure due to the severity of the abscess. Once Camper was healed I had her spayed. She has been healing in our home for a while now and is currently all better, though the fur on her tummy and hip is not all the way grown in yet, but should in time.
I currently have an "alpha cat" so bringing Camper into our home permanently is not an option as both cats DO NOT GET ALONG!! We have had two accidental HUGE cat fights in our home. We are in a predicament due to the fact that these two kitties hate one another. I believe that since we've allowed Camper into our home that she has become an "alpha cat" too. Neither cat has sprayed. We keep them apart at all times. Multiple times a day we do a room swap. One in a room and the other roaming the house.
Camper should be the only kitty in the household, but possibly would get along with a different cat; one never knows......................

We have been in love with Camper since the day we started housing her on the back porch. She has been so sweet even through both procedures. Camper is a very timid animal after having both procedures but has recently shown extreme interest in all things kitten. She wants to attack your feet from under the bed, she likes to fall at your feet and roll onto her back, and she really loves to attack your hand under the blankets. I have never allowed her to bite my hands though she tries occasionally. She is finally exuding proper kitten behavior. When she does misbehave I blow on her face and the activity is stopped immediately. She likes to play for about 10 minutes then it's nap time. Camper enjoys looking out the windows and is showing GREAT interest to roam free outside. I do not allow her to go outside due to her extreme distaste for other cats, the extreme amount of money we've paid, and the extreme amount of time we've spent to keep her happy, alive, and well. Camper should go to a home where she will have the freedom to hunt birds and roam without being attacked or attacking another cat. She should also go to the home of a cat lover who will appreciate her chatter and nighttime loving as much as we do. Camper is NOT suited to be an indoor cat. Camper does not like her tail pulled, so I would advise for her to be in a home with older children. She also does not care to be picked up, as she lets out a little squeak every time I do it. She tends to be kindof dopey, a trait we have found to be quite indering. She sleeps on her back with her big ole legs every which way, she has zero cat grace though she can jump very high, and she's just generally kinda sloppy for a cat. She will just fall over anywhere to get her belly out regardless of what she'll bump into. We get to laugh at her often.
Well, long story!! I hope I didn't kill you with details!!!
