Ruby is about 2 years old and weighs about 65 pounds. She is VERY sweet and great with kids and other dogs (we don't have cats so I have no idea how that might be, so please don't apply if you have cats we will not let her go).
She currently lives with a 9 year old male dog but would prefer a younger and more active dog her size, either gender is fine, as long as the dog is friendly. She also lives with 2 small kids which she is great with but they are just not old enough to play, run and romp with her so if kids we are looking for kids over 6 years old.
Ruby will only go to the right matching home there is no urgency to place her quickly looking for just the right family where she will be happy for the rest of her life, otherwise she will stay with her current owner that wants more for Ruby than she can give her. Hwever Ruby is in great hands for the time being, we're looking for a little better match so dog&human can be happy together; someone that loves to have a needy velcro dog as best friend and a hound friendly and hound experienced home a must. Another hound or two in the home, in the outskirts of a town, mountains or a fenced acre in town, etc would be ideal and KIDS well behaved. Loving kids over 5 yrs so they can play and snuggle with her and someone must be home during the day that wants to spend time with Ruby.
Ruby is a velcro dog, wants to be with a person all day (she will whine and howl if I leave her home while I walk to the mailbox and back. She does NOT destroy the house if I am away. She just whines when I leave her behind but eventually settles down once I am completely gone if she can't still see or smell me any longer. She wants to be included at all times a best buddy&companion .Loves to play with other dogs, fetch, destroy squeaky toys to get the squeeker and have her belly rubbed She's a very social dog and has no hang ups. She is a good traveler and rides in the back of the car for both short and long distances. She does well on a leash (we use a leader). She is pretty spoiled--she is used to sleeping on our bed and having run of our house. We are looking to place her with a family that will allow her to continue sleeping in bed with her owners she only goes up on furniture when allowed up. We're looking for a active family that loves the outdoors.
