My family is looking for someone who would be happy to love our three cats as much as we have, which will be no easy feat! If you’ve had pets before you probably know how reluctant we are to say goodbye, and how determined to find a new owner with whom they’ll have a wonderful life (wonderful enough for them to not miss us too much!). We don’t need all three to stay together, so if you only have room for one or two that definitely works.
Ideally, the three of them will be in new homes by late June.
All three cats have been “fixed” (either neutered or spayed), and are up to date on their vaccinations.
Gustav (“Gus” . . . medium-haired black male) and Foxy (medium-haired gray female) are both seven years old. Very mild cats all around, perhaps even lazier than your typical cat is. Gus started out very shy but has evolved over the years into a definite sweetheart. He’ll always be the first to greet you in the morning with his tiny meow (which we hardly heard at all the first few years we had him!). Foxy is the shyer of the two, and has a special attachment to my sister Serena––she’ll jump up and meow to greet Serena whenever she comes in.
The third cat, Amber, (medium-haired calico female) was never officially designated as mine, but the whole family knows she is. ;) She’s twelve years old and we’ve had her since she was eight weeks, which means she’s been scampering along after me for more than half my life. By far the smartest of the three, I guarantee you’ve never had a cat look at you with such intelligent eyes. Sooner or later everyone who meets her comments on how it seems like she’s staring straight into your soul. She has the most human-like personality of the three. She is very sweet but will let you know when she’s had too much attention. She’s very attached to me so every time I leave on a trip she gets a bit lonely, though I’m sure with time she’ll transition just fine.
As we have always lived in the countryside, well away from the city, we’ve always let the cats enjoy roaming outside on our four acres of property during the mid-part of the day, but at night we make sure to always bring them in for safety (from coyotes, etc), as we have lost many cats by leaving them outside overnight. Since they are used to having property to roam around on and have never lived in a residential neighborhood, they are not car-smart or city-smart at all.
We would appreciate it if you, or anyone you know, would like to adopt our loving cats. As we love them so much, we are going to be selective, but our family certainly knows that whoever adopts any of the three cats will be very blessed! Thank you ahead of time.
