estimated 2-3 years (my guess, based on his playful behavior, is closer to "2")
Persi (short for Persistence) was rescued by my friend Denise at the end of January. When she and her husband moved out of state in mid-March, I agreed to foster him and since that time have been seeking a stable and loving "forever" home in which to place him. Prior to their fostering him, Persi lived life as a stray and had been coming around for outdoor feeding during the previous months. When he started meowing incessantly, Denise became concerned and took him to Dana Park Veterinary where she paid for testing, neutering, vaccinations & microchipping him. For a variety of reasons that have nothing to do with Persi (he's a funny, sweet, and gentle cat), I am unable to make the long-term commitment to be "his human." I am, however, deeply committed to ensuring he finds a home deserving of him. His disposition is sweet and gentle. He's playful and curious, still in the "kitten-like" stage of jumping up and looking, sniffing, exploring. He loves to be greeted in the morning and for the first hour or so (I suspect this is because he sleeps in the garage and has some separation anxiety), he's my little shadow, following me around from room to room. Sometimes he'll lay in a chair nearby while I'm working at the computer, but he's just as likely to find a place to snooze in another room of the house. Before coming to me, he'd been well-cared for but living in a home with 3 dogs and 5 cats (afraid of the former, unliked by the latter), which I'm sure caused him anxiety and stress. revealed perhaps by his pound weight gain in the 6 weeks Denise had him. When I remarked on this she said, "He was eating his food and everyone else's"). I've been feeding him a grain-free diet to help him get back to a healthy weight. He's thrived in a home with one human and no other animals. I prefer to adopt him to a single person or couple with NO other animals. I cannot comment on how he would be with children but would likely NOT consider a home with very young children.
Persi likely experienced trauma in his early life and needs a human companion(s) that is/are patient and respectful of his needs and boundaries. Although affection, he's not a 'cuddler.' A gentle and loving person who can provide a stable home and consistent care will be the best match for Persi.
